From the streets of Inglewood CA come letlive. Their self-produced and released debut Fake History was picked up by Epitaph in 2011, and quickly established the band as a force to be reckoned with, inheritors of that uncategorizable blend that made bands like the Deftones, Mars Volta and Rage Against the Machine so crucial.

    Absolutely impressive

I wasn’t sure if letlive. could release another album of the same caliber as Fake History, but boy was I put in my place, The Blackest Beautiful is an album that gets better with every play through. Don’t expect to ‘get’ every song on your first listen, every song has so must going on. Another victory for letlive., one of my favorite bands.

    THE NEW AWESOME

I find this band to be amazing… a breath of fresh air in the heavy genre, with thick grooves as good as the best radio bands to boot– although you won’t hear them on the radio, which is a shame because they rock.LETLIVE reminds me of what Glassjaw could have been, with a touch of Chasing Victory. This is high energy, solid hard rock with a unique vibe. This album is a stronger release than their previous… but the I was hooked since then and this was a surprisingly powerful follow up.

    Mind = Blown

I initially bought this album on a whim due to the constant suggestion of a friend. After listening to the song Banshee I decided to give it a try. After listening to the CD all I can say is where were letlive. years ago. The entire CD is just a crazy collection of amazing songs that I can never get out of my head. If you love crazy hardcore music then BUY THIS CD!

    Groundbreaking!!!

I heard about these guys from a referral from the drummer for another band. The drummer said I should check these guys out, and that the vocalist was amazing. That isn’t even the half of it!letlive. is a fantastic experience and this album has rapidly become one of my all time favorites. The lyrics are deep and meaningful as they are emotionally drenched. Jason Aalon Butler (the singer) steals the show with his wide range of styles to keep every track interesting, often changing styles or pace mid-song. The same can be said for the instrumentalists, who combine the rhythms and tones of all sorts of genres into something that feels renewing fresh. Energy seeps out of every song and the words chosen really drive home a lot of heavy subjects. This is an album that doesn’t only stand out, it has a very powerful message and isn’t afraid to say it. And that is something to be highly appreciated and respected if not cherished.Awesome job, completely beautiful.

    Love this band

I enjoyed every track in this album. The dynamics of every song is great. Very fun and energetic. The musicians are top notch. If you’re into hard rock and hardcore this is the album for you. Even if you’re not really into this band, you’ll at least find a song or two you can like for yourself.

    amazing band, terrific album

I bought this mainly for the one song I had heard on You tube. I ended up loving the whole album. Their songs are sung with so much passion and the beat gets stuck in your head.

    So beautiful…

“We’re here to fulfill every one of your dreams, a small nominal fee, it only costs you your soul!!!!!!!” The opening lines to one of the best buys in a while. My taste in music tends to mean that the musicians are dead or in wheelchairs so I try and find new bands where I can and letlive. is turning out to be one of my favourite bands at the moment. From monumental opening track ‘Banshee (Ghost Fame)’ to the slow bass fade of the closer ’27 Club’ The Blackest Beautiful does not disappoint. Each and every track sticks out and carries it’s own genius with it, ‘Empty Elvis’ holds a massive chorus ‘White America’s Beautiful Black Market’ is so funky and bouncey that it could be a rap song, ‘Virgin Dirt’ carris the emotional weight equivalent of a whale and ‘The Dope Beat’ is just too much fun to jump around to and really lives up to it’s name. I couldn’t say that there is a weak track on this masterpiece, it’s one of the albums that comes around every 5 years, albums like Songs For The Deaf (QOTSA) and The Eminem Show (Eminem) that are just stone cold classics that’ll live within their genre forever and The Blackest Beautiful is no different. With every track featuring well crafted melody’s and lyrics (with actual meaning) and the complex musical structures that always break into groove (bordering on funky) I really don’t know what they are going to do for the next album, but whatever happens this is an album to give to your children.Essential Tracks:Banshee (Ghost Fame)White America’s Beautiful Black MarketVirgin DirtYoungerThe Dope BeatThe Priest And Used Cars

    Great addition to any collection

Debatably one of the most creative band in their genre combining a range of sounds no other band has come remotely close too. Great addition to any collection. Amazing from a lyrical stand point as well.

    Geheimtipp

    Great album

Some really good moments on this album. Not quite as raw as Fake History was, but still worth it.
