Here is the routine that worked beautifully for me:One Coat of Primer: I used just a single coat of the Volume Booster. I’ve been seeing a lot of videos for using primer with mascara. My lashes have become more sparse over the last few years. I already love this mascara and when I saw it with primer I had to try it. I used it today and WOW! This really worked for volume and length.**Tip: I saw a video comment that said to let the primer dry before applying the mascara.I wil be purchasing this again.

Disappointed, maybe a bad batch?
Man, I have purchased Essence mascaras before and have loved them, but this was a big disappointment. I wasn’t sure if the primer should dry before applying the mascara or not, so I tried it both ways and even tried the mascara without the primer at all. Regardless of the application timing and method, my lashes just looked clumpy and gross. I wonder if I just got a bad batch? Normally mascara should be creamy and smooth, not dry and crumby. So overall pretty disappointed but still giving 3 stars just because of my history and experience with Essence mascara overall. I do normally recommend it.
