    Simple and effective

This is my first time using Korean makeup and bottled liquid lip stain, and I’m really impressed. Comparing to American drugstore marker-style lip stains, this water tint is much less drying (though it will still highlight any dry/chapped skin you already have) and has similar or better color pay off. The second column of photos in the second product photo shows the color after 2 layers of this lip tint. At 1 layer, this provides a pretty stain that is work appropriate and versatile. One issue is that this can bleed/feather a bit when applied at the edge of the lip, but it’s not a problem if you don’t apply too much. Finally, this lip stain has a light and pleasant cherry scent that disappears quickly. This is how I use this product on well-moisturized lips: apply 1 layer, wait to dry, blot with moist tissue, apply 2nd layer, wait to dry, blot with dry tissue, apply lip balm. My upper lip does not take up color as much as my lower lip, so for each layer, I apply this lip stain directly on the upper lip, blow air on it for a couple of seconds, and then blot my lips together to color the lower lip.

Worth the money and lasts a long time

I love this tint – it’s my first tint and I didn’t know what to expect. I was a bit thrown off by how watery the formula appears, but it goes on nicely on the lips. The applicator is very useful. The colour can be as sheer or as pigmented as you want it; it just depends on how many coats you put on. I relly like the colour – it’s not as dark as you think it’ll be, and looks very natural when applied properly. It’s best described as a flushed, dark pinkish red colour. In terms of wearability, you may need to reapply once or twice during the day if you want a more pigmented look, but if you want a flushed, natural, colour, a medium coat at the start of the day is good enough. The tint smells amazing – kind of like cherry candy. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase, and I think it’s a good tint for a first timer. You also don’t need a lot of product, so it should last a long time 🙂

    Dupe for Benetint !

This stuff is so great — I use it nearly every day and I love it ! The staining power of this tint is really intense, and it lasts a super long time, even after swimming, showering, and sleeping. In fact, I would advise that you dot 2-3 dots on one cheek and IMMEDIATELY blend the tint in with your fingers. Do not put the applicator down or dot the product on the other cheek — with even just a few seconds of waiting, this tint will leave drops stains on your skin that will do not blend out.I tend to use this product more as a cheek tint than a lip tint, because it does have a fairly strong scent of grape juice (of which I am not a fan). The scent does dissipate quite quickly when the product dries, but if you are sensitive to scents, you may be bothered by it. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this product, especially if you have been eyeing the Benefit Benetint but have a hard time justifying the price (30 dollars !?). This tint wears very beautifully, it lasts a long time, and it’s a fraction of the price. Get it now !

My favorite lip tint — already on my 3rd bottle

I’ve been using this Etude lip tint for months, and you can tell how much I love it because this is already my 3rd bottle. The color is pretty and natural, it feels comfortable on my lips, and it lasts well throughout the day. It’s easy to apply and perfect for everyday use. Definitely a product I keep repurchasing.

    My first lip tint ever!

Right off the bat I want to let you know that I’ve never used a lip tint before therefore this was my first time trying one out and using it. My first impression of this product was good because it arrived a day or two earlier than I had expected (which is always a plus in my book!) The liptint is a beautiful cherry red color that is very vibrant and looked very nice with my skin. I’m not sure if this is how all lip tint works but they weren’t lying when they said “Water Tint” because it was very watery when I first applied it. It would run down my lips which is why I had to let it dry for a bit before continuing or applying a little and then mushing my lips together to spread it out. For me this wasn’t really a drawback since it did say water tint in the name, and it’s a liquid so of course it’s gonna get a little runny. The applicator is a sponge brush (look at my pictures for further imagery) and the bottle is clear so you can see the content inside. I’ve been using it for the past month and so far I haven’t run out so I’d say this will last you quite a while before you get it again! You can achieve two looks for this tint which is either putting a bit of tint on your inner lip and blending it outwards (which is what I did in the fifth picture) or applying it on your entire lip (see 7th picture) either way the red is still noticeable and dries the same. It dries very quickly and doesn’t leave the lips chapped or dry, however you can still apply lip balm on just in case. With that in mind it was only necessary for me to run a few tests on this product to see if it’d pass. The first thing I did after letting it dry was the Smudge test. If you look at the video I’ve provided (swipe 12 times) then you can see me rubbing against my lips (so not softly) against the back of my hand and my palm. I actually did this three times in a row before recording the video and each time there was no stain or smudge, the product didn’t even fade! It passed the test with flying colors. The second test was pure luck actually. After I received the product and put it on I headed out downtown. So, I applied the lip tint and to make it more cute I applied a clear lip gloss over it. The clear lipgloss didn’t smudge the lip tint like I thought it would and both stayed in place, it only left a little stain on my applicator for the clear lipgloss which was great compared to how big the stains are with other products! I took a photo before I left for downtown (second to last picture) and hours later after downtown (last picture). I’d have to note that while in downtown I went to a BBQ restaurant and did not hold back while eating to see if the lip tint held up to the test. And while the clear lip gloss unfortunately did not win, the lip tint still stayed on! Only a bit faded but still smudge free even after constant wiping of my mouth. A couple hours after that and I headed home to take the picture and you can see that while the product did fade to a less intense red it still stayed on. One thing that did prevent me from giving this lip tint full five stars was the break out. This isn’t entirely the products fault but I included this for those of you who may have the same problem and is wary about buying this product like I initially was. I have very problematic skin (which you can see in the pictures). I have eczema, dry skin and dry patches, acne, and sensitive skin. A problem area for my acne is (not so surprisingly) my lips, so I was verh cautious when buying this item and read the reviews and didn’t see anyone who talked about this. Which is why I included it. In some of the pictures if you notice I have some tiny bumps forming on my upper lip on the outline of it. At the time I didn’t notice however. I’d like to note that before I applied this product i had no bumps on my lips at the time. Then in later photos if you look closely (in the last one it shows I think, correct me if I’m wrong) you can see a bump on my bottom lip that wasn’t there before. When I noticed after I got home, I took the product off and simply allowed my lips to breathe and the bumps went away in a couple of days. Then to get my lips used to it I applied a little bit once in a while. And since then I haven’t had a breakout since, which I’m honestly so happy for because I love this lip tint! Now I can apply how much I want to and not have to worry about a little bump on my lip somewhere! Overall I really recommend this lip tint even if you’re wary at first or haven’t tried a lip tint before. Trust me, this one is worth the buy and will look flattering on you no matter your skin tone! Happy buying!

Eh, I’ve had way better for the same price. Not worth it.

Not really what I expected. The color is super pretty and I like that you can keep adding some on to get the depth you like, but it all came off after an hour and I even exfoliated before I put it on. It smells awesome and doesn’t taste weird when it bleeds inside your mouth from your lip…which was odd because most lip products taste weird. It ran so much from the first, thin later that you would’ve thought I poured in on my lips. Didn’t dry that fast either. I have stain on the inside of my lips now but that’s it. I didn’t even have to scrub it off my lips, it came off all on its own. And I haven’t even eaten or done anything since trying it out. My lips feel sticky after it faded and some of it bled onto the skin around my lips, and it did that as soon as I put on one thin coat. It just kinda ran from my lips to my skin. I was really bummed out because I can’t find a decent lip stain anywhere that doesn’t dry like gloss or lipstick. I don’t like chapstick either. I usually moisturize my lips with Vaseline. It’s the only thing that doesn’t make my lips feel weird. I like water based lip stains because they dry like water and you can’t feel them at all. I normally get the one from e.l.f but they quit selling my favorite color. This isn’t a horrible product, but it wasn’t worth ordering online and waiting for. It’s basically only a step up from what I’ve gotten at Dollar Tree. I can deal with the bleeding onto my skin, I can cover that, it’s the fact that it lasted an hour and all I was doing was watching tv. I wanted to see if it lasted like it claims. And sadly, it doesn’t. I used two coats and let it dry between each coat…and it just kinda faded super quick. I guess I’ll use it for certain occasions, but probably not often. I don’t really recommend this one. Probably won’t buy again.

As good as Benetint on my cheeks for 1/10th of the price.

I am a tried and true fan of Benefit Cosmetics Benetint and this Etude House Dear Darling Water Tint looked quite similar to it as far as how it is packaged and color so I took a chance and bought both the Cherryade and the Strawberryade. It was only $3.88 each and I figured I didn’t have much to lose if it wasn’t any good. The two came the other day, well sealed and in .35 once glass bottles. Benetint has .4 ounce per full sized bottle for over $30.00.This stain is very watery and has a sponge tipped applicator as compared to to Benetint’s brush applicator. I like the sponge better. The product is as thin as water and very pigmented. It can be used on both lips and cheeks. I wanted it for my cheeks but I also like lip stains like this as well. The Cherryade which is the first swatch on my hand is a true red. The Stawberryade is a deep pink shade. I am in process of getting the Orangeade now. The product has a pleasant scent and only a small amount is needed. I dot it onto one cheek then blend then do the other cheek. If I dot it on both cheeks and blend one at a time, the second one will be stained with little drops of the product. The key is to work fast and blend quickly. It leaves a perfectly natural flush on my cheeks that lasts for ages.On my lips, it doesn’t last nearly as long since I do eat and drink and lick my lips, etc. It gives my lips a flushed, very natural look. It doesn’t dry my lips out but I always exfoliate first and make sure my lips are in good shape before applying stains like this. This one does not give me prune lips.Although I like it well enough on my lips, it really is best for me on my cheeks. Blended well, it gives me such a natural flush that it looks like it comes from within. It lasts for hours too with no fading. It can tough to remove but it does come off with cleanser or makeup remover. If all else fails, oil will take it right off.As far as how this product compares to Benetint, it’s is very, very close. Benetint lasts longer on my lips but the longevity and flush on my cheeks appears to be the same. And this one is 1/10th of the price! I am impressed and will be buying more. It’s versatile, inexpensive, and really does the job. Now I want to try more products from Etude. Korean cosmetics are really unique and some are just amazing. This brand definitely gets a thumbs up from me so far. I am going with 5 stars even though it fades slightly faster on my lips than Benetint – based on the price and how it lasts on my cheeks.
