Great primer for my semi-oily aging skin with large pores!
I love this Professional Facial Primer. It really works well to conceal my large pores and fine lines. Having aging, yet semi-oily, skin, it is hard to find a primer that hydrates, conceals, and doesn’t leave me with an oil slick in my T-zone. This primer, even though it is rather thick, goes on so silky. It fills all the large pores and blurs my fine lines and even deeper wrinkles. I do need to do a quick powder or blot mid-day, but my makeup still looks nice at the end of the day. Highly recommended!

Perfect for sensitive or combo skin types
This is actually an excellent foundation primer, it goes on super easily and dries fast into a very silky, soft, smooth layer that makes your foundation application so much easier. I have sort of combination skin, oily through the T-zone and very dry and easily irritated throughout the rest of my face. So it can be sort of difficult to find facial products that work for me and do not cause irritation. This one works great and seems to be really well suited to combo skin types. It makes my foundation last so much longer and blend so much easier and it helps create a really smooth matte finish.

I recently tried this Professional Facial Primer, and I’m quite impressed!. I love how it is giving me a flawless look. The powdery-gel texture is perfect for my combination skin, as it absorbs excess oil without feeling dry. I also appreciate that it’s fragrance-free and gentle on my sensitive skin. The only reason I’m giving it four stars instead of five is that I wish the matte finish lasted even longer. Overall, a fantastic primer that I’ll continue to use!

Very nice feel and look
I like the feel and look of this primer a lot. It takes the shine off my face, which is good, and it makes my skin feel extra soft and smooth. It also seems to slightly blur imperfections. The bottle is nicely packaged to prevent leaks and tampering. The primer is like a clear gel and it feels very smooth on the skin. The pump dispenser works well.Unfortunately, it did not play well with my favorite sunscreen (eltaMD). It developed a lot of little pills of product that have to be brushed off the skin. I have other sunscreens that I will use instead of the eltaMD, and this primer doesn’t interact with them.Overall, I love the feel and look of this formula. I rarely wear foundation, so I’m not rating it based on using it with foundation. I use a variety of moisturizers and serums, and sunscreen. I tested it without the eltaMD and did not experience pilling, so I know it’s the eltaMD sunscreen – primer combo that doesn’t work together.

MD Blend Facial Primer
I don’t often use a primer, but I found this one to work better than others I’ve tried on my more mature skin. It definitely feels silky in application and created a nice, blurred effect. It didn’t increase creasing or cause any settling into lines. There is really no scent to it, which I like. I used a combination of a foundation stick + skin tint serum and experienced no pilling. I didn’t use an excessive amount of the primer.I was a little nervous to try this as my skin tends to have reactions to new products pretty easily. I’ve had no issues so far from the times I’ve used this. My standard evening routine is to remove my makeup using a Makeup Eraser than wash 2x. I did feel like I needed an extra scrub after I used this, but it’s also another layer of product.This is a clear gel and the amount in the jar seems like it would last a good while. The price is comparable to other higher-end primers.

This face primer by M.D. Blend is way better than I expected! I’ve tried so many primers ranging from ELF to Urban Decay etc but I’m really enjoying this one. I only need a tiny amount to spread all over my face and it leaves my face moisturized and ready for my base makeup. It doesn’t block my pores like some primers do and I feel like it makes my makeup last longer and look smoother. I’m in my early 40s and I think this primer works really well for skin like mine (combo, large pores, fine lines).

This Silk Facial Primer by M.D. Blend has a job to do, and that job is to help skin look flawlessly smooth before applying makeup. I’ve no doubt that this product does a great job of that, because it is full of silicones, seven different types to be exact.Silicones can blur pores, fill in wrinkles and make the complexion look smoother because they form an occlusive layer on the skin. But the benefits are only temporary and as soon as the product is washed off, so goes the wrinkle filling and pore blurring illusion. As a matter of fact, silicones provide no long-term benefits at all. The only truly beneficial ingredient in this primer is the tocopherol acetate, which is the last ingredient listed.Two of the silicones listed for this product are cyclic silicones, those are the ones that end in -siloxane. These particular kinds of silicones are very controversial because they can enter the bloodstream and interfere with endocrine systems, and this can affect reproductive functions. Not to mention that silicones are bioaccumulative and can take hundreds of years to break down, so horrible for the environment.Does the product work as it should? It sure does, I used it and it made my foundation look flawless. Then I had to wash it off my face because silicones make my skin break out. And that’s another thing to know… Silicones do not wash off easily, so a two-step cleansing routine is called for when using products with them.The product works well, but my search continues for a non-silicone primer, for all the reasons outlined above. Currently this primer is selling at $24.95 and that is a fair enough price for what this primer can do.
