They’re very best primer/mascara ever!
This is the absolute best primer ever. I am fifty two years old and my lashes have gotten sparse. This gets every single lash, I have, and it doesn’t clump.It doesn’t do anything bad.It just does beautiful things. And you can go on to put on other mascara on top of it. I don’t know if it’s the brush or the formula.But something about this is gold! I found this about four years ago.At a spa and i’ve been using it ever since.

plum colored lash primer
I had expected the coloration of this to be a deep, rich plum… it is not.It’s a pale purple that leans towards a deep Heather or lavender.It is a good primer and it does add volume to my lashes when I top it with mascara. On its own, it’s underwhelming.The brush is good, the formulation is good, it applies nicely and evenly without clumping, the pigmentation could be better.As for longevity, I can’t say that it helps my mascara last longer. I work outdoors and I sweat, A LOT! So far, after a week of daily use, it does prop my lashes and help the mascara to look thicker with a single coat, but I’m still “lashless” by the end of the day.

My preferred product for casual lashes
I’m a longtime fan of Fitglow Beauty as a company. They’re Leaping Bunny certified and genuinely committed to ethical, clean formulations, which matters so much to me. I’ve used this Plum Lash Primer for a couple of years now and it has never let me down. I’ve used it under my regular mascara and it preps and conditions without any hassle but my favorite way to wear it is completely on its own. On casual days or when I’m just at home, I’ll wear this without additional mascara and it gives my lashes just the right amount of extra oomph. They look a little more defined without looking overdone. The subtle purple color adds a little fun and liveliness. This is kind of my no-makeup makeup. I adore that it’s vegan too. I highly recommend this if you want a versatile product from an ethical company.

This is yet another not so good review for this brand. I had high hopes for this lash primer – but it is so dry it barely goes on my lashes. I will stick with my brown conditioner from another brand.

Good Lash Primer Option!
Admittedly I do not have a lot of experience using a wide variety of different brand lash primers, but I am a long time daily full face makeup wearer and I’ve used several other primer brands over the years. This Fitglow lash primer is a good value option that delivers! It’s very easy to apply, the lash primer shade is exactly as pictured, and the brush wand is straight, full, and is similar to that of an average mascara wand.The Fitglow lash primer applies evenly and smoothly with no clumping, and it fully dries on my lashes in under 60 seconds. After applying 3 coats of this Fitglow lash primer, I then layer my lashes with 2 coats of my daily go-to black mascara over top of the primer, and my lashes always appear thick and full – and slightly fuller than they would when I am just wearing 3 coats of mascara alone. The only negative that I’ve experienced is that the lash primer tends to make my lashes feel slightly drier than they do when I’m just wearing mascara alone – and I prefer a more hydrated feeling on my lashes, so this aspect threw me off a little as I don’t really like the dry feeling. But the Fitglow lash primer definitely works well, and regular mascara adheres to it evenly too.Lastly, I was hesitant to try the purple color primer as I normally stick to black or darker shades to coordinate with my mascara – but surprisingly the purple shade isn’t even visible underneath black mascara…so I don’t know that the Fitglow lash primer color choices actually matter if you’re planning to wear the primer as a base under your mascara as you won’t be able to see it.I am a big fan of the Fitglow product line overall and this lash primer has great potential as it’s valued well, and it’s great for lengthening and thickening your lashes – I would recommend giving it a try if you’re looking for a new, affordable lash primer option!

Fitglow plum lash primer
I admittedly have little experience with lash primers. But I’m now a huge fan! I’ve used this under my regular mascara, and it truly volumizes my lashes! I use a single coat under my mascara and it’s a noticeable difference compared to without. It’s easy to apply, just like mascara. It is a mauve color which is easily covered by my darker mascara. Overall very happy with this product and would purchase again.

Now I want a plum mascara!
I think what this product did best was to have me start looking for a dark plum mascara.As a primer, it worked fine and it did give my lashes a boost. It wasn’t clear whether it was OK for waterproof mascara, but did work fine with both regular and waterproof types. Caveat: I did not swim with the waterproof combo on so not sure on if it woukd stay on under water.Overall it was fine. The plum looks great with blue eyes and neutral shadows, so will be hunting for a mascara version with a darker version of this shade.

Fun little edition to my morning routine
I use this primer before my mascara on busy mornings. It adds a little thickness and helps my mascara stay put longer. The plum color is subtle and looks nice on its own too. The con is that the tube is small and it can clump if I put on too much. I wipe the wand off first. It has not irritated my eyes which is a big plus.
