    Directions matter, good product

As someone with very sensitive skin who lives in Florida, I was really curious to see how this primer would hold up against heat, humidity, and an oily T-zone.The first thing I’ll say is follow the directions exactly. This isn’t one of those products you can quickly slap on and hope for the best. Taking the time to apply it the way the instructions recommend made a noticeable difference in how it performed. Shake it and keep your face frozen for a few!!!Once applied correctly, it did a great job controlling shine and helping my makeup stay matte. I wore it outside in the Florida heat, and it definitely held up better than many primers I’ve tried. My makeup stayed looking fresher for much longer than I expected. The only downside for me was that it did make my very sensitive skin a little red. The redness faded, but if you have reactive skin like I do, I’d recommend doing a patch test first before using it on your face.Overall, I was impressed with how well it controlled oil and minimized shine, especially in hot, humid weather. While I wish it had been a little gentler on my sensitive skin, it delivered on its promises. If your skin tolerates it well and you follow the application directions, it’s a solid option for keeping makeup looking matte throughout the day. I felt the price was fair as a little goes a long way.

Smells Terrible at First, But Works Like a Dream!

As a woman with aging, sensitive, super oily combination skin, and pores that birds can nest within, I’m always on the lookout for effective primers that blur my lines, diminish the appearance of my pores, and keep makeup from sliding off my face within a couple hours. There are a lot of primers that make big promises and cost quite a bit, but in my experience, many of them fall far short of their claims. For me, the struggle is very real. After giving GOAT Products Oil Vanish Pro – Oil Control Mattifying Face Primer a try, I think I’ve found my solution! The key is to follow the directions precisely, which includes shaking thoroughly, coupled with the correct protocol for your skincare & cosmetic needs. Since my skin has an uber oily t-zone that includes my eyelids, I have to strategize accordingly. It can get tricky, and took me a couple tries before landing on the best way to make it work for me, so I do recommend giving it more than one chance if your first try isn’t successful. One thing to note up front: In my opinion, this product smells like cat pee. Seriously, the odor is bad. Luckily, that’s the only downside I’ve discovered, and the scent seems to dissipate once it’s dry. So, unless you are extra-sensitive to strong odors, once you’re past the initial application, you should be good to go. Just try not to wrinkle your nose while it’s drying. Also, a little dab will do ya, so try not to overdo it, or your makeup will definitely pill. It sets up quickly, so you’ll want to work fast, and PRESS it into your skin to fill those pores before gently smoothing in an upward direction. What works for me is to cleanse & moisturize first, apply serums and allow them to absorb fully for a few minutes before SPARINGLY applying GOAT Products Oil Vanish Pro – Oil Control Mattifying Face Primer. I only apply it to my oily t-zone and allow my moisturizer to act as primer for the rest of my face. (I don’t recommend using this product on your eyelids, even if they are oily like mine. I tried this once, with poor results. There are some good oily eyelid primers on the market, so I recommend opting for those instead.) I could definitely feel my skin tightening in the areas I applied the primer! Be sure to keep your face still and wait at least 3 minutes before applying your makeup. I finish up by using setting powder over the oily t-zone, and non-oily setting mist overall. Using this technique, I found that Oil Vanish Pro effectively minimized my pores and fine lines while holding off the shine for about 6 hours – in humidity. That’s a record for me! Definitely recommend!

    Super mattifying

This product tends to separate so give it a good shake before you use it or else a whole bunch of liquid is going to come out. I don’t notice this to be poor minimizing like it claims, but it is very mattifying. I have very oily skin and I did not really like this because it makes my skin feel really dry and tight. My eyelids also became very itchy. This product does what it’s supposed to do for oily skin, but I think it could be mattifying but not to the point where my skin feels uncomfortable. I would recommend this product to be placed on just your T-zone and the oily areas of your face, but do not put on the thinner areas of your face such as your eyelids or else you will be scratching your eyelids all day.

Finally, a matte finish product that doesn’t completely dry me out!

This review is for GOAT Products Oil Vanish Pro – Oil Control Mattifying Face Primer, Pore Minimizing, 1 fl oz.I’m always hesitant to try oil-control products because most of them leave my skin feeling tight, dry, or powdery within an hour. But this GOAT gel actually nails the balance. The instant smoothing effect is real, as soon as it sets, it tightens everything up, blurs out fine lines, and wipes away shine for a clean, matte finish. But because of the hyaluronic spheres in it, my skin still feels comfortable and hydrated underneath all day. It glides on super smooth, isn’t greasy at all, and sits perfectly under makeup without pilling up.If you deal with an oily T-zone or visible pores but hate the stripped, chalky feeling of typical mattifiers, this tube is 100% worth grabbing.Hopefully this review helped you make an informed decision.

    Solid primer

This is a really interesting primer. I put a small dab on my finger so you can see what it looks like in the picture. All the primers I’ve used before have been white and sort of lotiony in texture. This is more like hair gel. It’s translucent rather than transparent. When I put it on my skin, it’s so lightweight it feels like there’s nothing there, but after a few seconds drying time, it creates the perfect surface for makeup: smooth but with a slight texture and tackiness that will hold on to makeup really well. The oil absorbent qualities are also evident in that texture. I can feel it pulling oil without drying out my skin. I live in Utah where it’s extremely dry all year round so I likely won’t use this primer much here; but when I visit family in California, this will be a lifesaver for keeping my makeup on my face and not melting around or under my chin!It says to allow 3 minutes for it to dry after application, but it was ready for me within ten seconds max. That might also be because I live in a dry place though, so maybe it would take longer in a more humid climate.I also like the packaging. The navy blue and gold combo is really classy.Solid product!

    Works pretty well

I got this for my wife for the face primer aspect mostly but also the pore minimizing as a side benefit. Opening the tube the first time you got a bit of a smell that goes away once rubbed in but just keep it in mind. Rubbing it into the skin goes on well and she was pretty happy with the results. The pore minimizing works but her pores aren’t too bad so I’m unsure if it will work on larger pores. She said that it comes off easily at the end of the day and such as well and was pretty happy with it. She was so so on the price though.

    Vanish pro

I have struggled with an insanely oily T-zone my entire life, usually looking like a shiny, greasy mess by lunchtime no matter what setting powder I use, but this Oil Vanish Pro primer has completely changed how my makeup wears throughout the day. I was a bit skeptical because a lot of heavy mattifying primers tend to feel like thick, suffocating spackle or leave a weird, chalky white cast on your skin, but this one has a lightweight, velvety texture that glides on smoothly and instantly blurs out the large pores around my nose and cheeks. It sets down to a completely weightless, demi-matte finish that acts like an absolute magnet for foundation, preventing my base makeup from breaking up, creasing, or sliding right off my face when the afternoon humidity hits. The 1 fl oz tube is the perfect size for throwing into a travel bag, and you only need a tiny pea-sized amount to cover your entire face, so the bottle ends up lasting a surprisingly long time. I love that it doesn’t dry my skin out to the point of creating flaky patches or trigger any random breakouts, which usually happens when I try out new oil-control products with harsh ingredients. If you are tired of blotting your face every two hours or watching your makeup literally melt away by 3 PM, this stuff is an absolute lifesaver for keeping your skin looking naturally fresh, smooth, and shine-free all day long.

Primes Well, Eliminates Oiliness, But Can Be Irritating And Can Leave White Residue

Sometimes I like a dewy primer, sometimes a matte one. This GOAT Products offering is of the latter variety. My face tends toward dry, except in the T-zone where I deal with a little oiliness. I thought this primer might be a good choice to fix that and to provide a matte base for my foundation. Directions for use are pretty specific. Shake the tube well. Apply to clean, dry face only on oily areas. Remain expressionless for 3 minutes until dry. I like good instructions that leave no room for guesswork. There was no need to wait 3 minutes. There was very little time to spread it around before it dried completely, and when I say dried, I mean DRIED. I’ve can’t remember using a product that so thoroughly eliminated all oiliness. And, yes, it was quite matte. But for me, it was also a little irritating. It had a strong astringent feel, sort of like applying alcohol to my face.As for the effect, this primer attached to wrinkles and pores so well that no foundation settled into them. For that, it is outstanding. Not so good, though, is that after drying, the product left a white, crusty residue in some places that was hard to get off.Though Features & Specs indicate the primer works on these skin types: All, Combination, and Oily, that was not the case for me. This product was irritating and much too dehydrating. I wish my skin were less sensitive and a lot oiler, because it did a fine job of filling wrinkles and pores.I’m struggling with assigning stars because this primer didn’t work for me, but it did what it claimed to do. It primed pores and wrinkles very well and it eliminated oiliness. I decided to deduct a star because it left a white residue that had to be scraped off and the possibility that skin irritation might be a feature rather than a bug.
