Cream Makeup Palette & 2 Brushes Are Easy to Use, Produce Flattering, Professional Looking Results
I used this beautifully presented, attractive, 3 Piece, Laura Geller New York Best of the Best Cream Makeup Palette & Brush Set for the first time this afternoon. After reading the suggestions for application of the makeup on the outside of the makeup box as well as the use instructions printed on the backs of the 2 brush packages, I applied the eye, face & lip makeup with no problems. The entire application took me no longer than 15 minutes, it was easy to apply, & I think my results using this makeup look flattering, plus more professional & color coordinated than that which I had previously been using. The makeup feels lighter than my old makeup, too, which I really like. It’s been about 6 1/2 hours since I applied the makeup, & it still looks good; requiring no more than a touch up here & there. One note – I feel the eye shadow may work well with false eyelashes; however, I wear cream/pencil eyeliner which smeared quickly after I applied it over the eyeshadow. Next time, I will apply the eyeliner first; then the eyeshadow, after which I would expect no problems with smearing. I don’t feel the smearing was due to any fault of the seller or defect in the makeup, therefore I didn’t deduct a rating star. This neat kit has a double mirror which includes one regular plus a magnifier mirror. There are 3 colors of eyeshadows – base, lid & crease colors – in nude, light tan & brown hues; facial makeup – highlighter to match the lid color, blush in a medium berry shade & a bronzer; as well as lip creams in a nude or neutral color, a medium peach color & as well as a medium pink hue. The lip creams are slightly glossy, as are the eyeshadows & face makeup. I really like all of it, & the only addition I might wish for would be a light feeling, base foundation or a neutral colored, facial tint for a base – which I often use before applying other makeup. I was happy to find that I used very little of the makeup in order to achieve the look I wanted for everyday errands., & I appreciate this I also like that the square, sectioned container, which measures about 5″ x 5″ when closed, is a perfect size to carry in my purse & use on the go if I want. It’s so convenient! The 2-makeup brushes included in the kit consist of a larger brush for the face makeup called “The Wonder Brush” & a smaller, dual brush that includes a lip brush on one end & an eyeshadow brush on the other end – both of which are retractable – a really great feature, in my view! This brush also has a small, cylindrical, snap-on cover for each end. I wish “The Wonder Brush” had the same, especially to protect it if I carry it in my purse with the makeup palette. The dual brush is 100% synthetic as noted on the back of its packaging, & The Wonder Brush is made of a “duo fiber” as per its back panel’s information. The makeup palette, as well as both makeup brushes, appear to be well made, including the compact for the makeup & the handles & hardware on both brushes. The makeup seems made in a thick enough consistency & as noted, I used very little of the eyeshadow, lip cream & face makeup in my initial application in order to achieve my normal coverage. Neither of the brushes shed any bristles during use, & they are soft & supple. I also feel this 3-piece, Palette & Brush Set is a good value given the quality & ease of use of the makeup as well as that of the 2 brushes, the fact that it should all last quite a long time. & the usefulness of the entire set. I look forward to using this set for my makeup needs on an everyday basis for many seasons, & I highly recommend it!

Nice finish, attractive neutrals
The brushes this set comes with are really lovely and plush and feel great on the skin. The eyeshadow brush is great for all-over color, but not nearly as good for finer applications, so despite the set’s assurance that you only need the one, you’re definitely better off using a couple of different options for anything other than a single-color wash. The eyeshadow/lip combo brush is perfect for travel, with a telescoping tube that keeps the brush safe while you apply the cap.It can be difficult to tell how much product is on the brushes, too. The blush winds up looking very pigmented on my skin even when I can’t see anything on the brush, but the bronzer and the highlighter don’t share that tendency, which can make it a little more complicatedThe finish on the makeup is very appealing. It’s not quite moist enough to be called “dewy,” but there’s a nice luminosity that makes it look fresh. I’m in young middle age, so I’m a little younger than the target market, but my combination skin likes it a lot. It’s very possible to do a fresh-faced youthful look with this set, despite the marketing aiming for older women.

Made me love make-up again
I stopped wearing make-up when I quit working three years ago. I was just tired of the ritual so I stopped and just maintained skin care. I am fortunate to have the chance to try this Cream Basic palette by Laura Geller because its versatility and effectiveness have changed my perception of what make-up can be.I qualify as a mature user – – 59, with medium brown hair, blue eyes, and pale pinkish skin. When I first opened the palette compact I was struck by two things: 1) the blush, highlighter, and bronzer were so dark I could not imagine my face being able to carry them; and 2) how would I be picking up those three tints on one brush without them all merging together in one muddy color. My previous make-up was mainly Lancome and a brief period with Bare Minerals. I understood how to use those; now I had application anxiety. Well, my friends, the answer is you just can’t go wrong.FACE: I started out lightly in bronzer/blush/highlighter order and would touch the brush to a tissue between each. I saw quickly that the brush doesn’t necessarily pick up that much product. In no time I was dabbing quickly between the three, blending as I went because, of course, the blending is the point. And it is marvelous. The texture is not as liquid as a cream or as dusty as a powder. And this is important: even with all the dabbing back and forth in the three face blends, the palette itself remains clean – – there’s no color dust leaking out over the other colors. I chose to stay at a light, almost dusting, level. It feels light on my skin and I don’t even feel like I’m wearing make-up. But if you want to get deeper color quickly you can swirl much more onto the brush or wet it or just use your fingers. The control is yoursEYES: I basically had the same happy experience with the eye colors. The product does not irritate my eyes or rest in the creases. The dark color is deep enough to be an effective eyeliner without looking harsh.LIPS: I do not blend the lip colors although you certainly can if you choose to. The lip cream doesn’t have quite the same texture as the eye & face colors. It feels & acts more like a traditional lip gloss providing a transparent color wash instead of an opaque color. It has no taste and, like lip gloss, is not particularly long-lasting.Please note that all the colors in this palette seem to have a low level of shimmer.The palette case itself is portable and closes securely for traveling. The top part of the split mirror inside the lid is magnified and the case is hinged open for convenient application anywhere.So how have Laura Geller’s cream face basics changed my perception of make-up? First, it’s the extreme versatility to apply the product at the lightest level I choose and still get a great result. Second, it has shown me that a light covering of well-blended make-up can be applied quickly and can make such a positive effect on my appearance. Instead of looking washed out and pale, I look brighter and (ironically) natural. People have been telling me I look “well”. And all this is achieved with a set of colors that tend warm. Back in my previous makeup days I stuck with cooler colors, but I can work with these.My whole experience confirms what I’ve heard about the Laura Geller quality. If you’re unsure about the value, consider trying one of the other LG palettes first; there’s a wide election on Amazon. Whichever one you choose, you probably can’t go wrong.

I love this palette. I don’t think I’ve come across anything by LG that I don’t like. It’s very smooth and if I had one complaint it would be maybe it’s a tad bit too creamy. Other than that, love it and use daily. I’m a minimalist where makeup is concerned and this is perfect for me.

Complete palate with high quality brushes
I love the ease of use of this makeup. I typically don’t wear bronzer, highlighter, or blush so it was really nice to have a visual explanation of how to apply each product right on the packaging. The case itself is a good size to throw into a toiletry bag. The brushes also have caps or a plastic sleeve which will be nice for travel.The brushes are really nice and high quality. They are super soft. I love that this palate comes with the exact brushes you need to apply everything.The palate itself is a nice mix of neutral colors that are sure to work well for many skin tones. The bronzer, highlighter, and blush blend together nicely for full face coverage.The eyeshadows are subtle in color. I took one star off because the eyeshadow, however. I have hooded lids and it really seems to cake up in the creases.The lip colors are a nice variety to choose from and go on smoothly.Overall, happy with this product.

Amazing for dry, sensitive skin, holds up through my 10-hour workdays!
I ordered this palette because I am a huge fan of Laura Geller products, I always have a great experience with her makeup line!Having sensitive, dry, and acne prone skin, plus being in my late 30’s trying new face products is usually a guessing game as to what will break me out or cling to dry spots. This palette far exceeded my expectations and has quickly become my daily go-to for blush and contour.The cream formulas are incredibly soft, creamy, and hydrating. The colors are vibrant yet buildable, so you can go as subtle or as bold as you want without it looking heavy. I love that it included a variety of colors so I can change it up depending on my overall look.The overall application is seamless, especially when using the included double-ended brush to blend everything out effortlessly.I work 10-hour days, and as long as I’m not rubbing my face, this makeup stays in place from morning until the end of my shift. I also love the portability of the palette, I throw it in my backpack or purse and carry it around with my because the mirror and setup is so convenient while on the go.Most importantly, I’ve had zero issues with breakouts or excessive oil production. It hydrates my dry skin without clogging my pores.If you’re looking for a convenient, high-quality cream face palette that flatters sensitive skin and lasts all day, I highly recommend this set!

A high quality set, with neutral buildable and bendable shades, and great brushes
I love that this palette has natural looking shades for the lips, cheeks, and eyes, and that it incudes two professional quality brushes. It’s a nice semi-warm toned palette that can look nice on most skin tones. It looks beautiful on the mature woman, but can work for any age too. The brushes pickup the makeup well and blend well. I find it a little hard to see how much is on the brushes. I think that using less looks better on my very pale skin. The colors look natural and have a lightweight feel.The palette measures about 12x12cm (4.72 x 4.72 inches). There are two mirrors on the underside of the lid. The bottom one is normal and the top one magnifies. There is a clear plastic square sheet separating the mirror and makeup palette. I like to this keep in place when the palette is closed so that the mirror stays clean.LIPS:For me, the three lip creams show up as lightly pigmented pink tones. Even the peachy one in the center appears pink on my lips. They have a glossiness/shininess to them. More or less can be applied to enhance the color and shine. When using the brush with these, be careful not to press too hard (like I did), or the brush can pick up way more than you need.CHEEKS:The highlighter creates a fairly noticeable sheen. I would classify it as shiny to a degree. The bronzer is a little dark for my super pale skin, but if I use the smallest amount, it can look nice. The main pink blush can create a natural, rosy look. All three can be layered and blended to the intensity you desire.EYES:The light tone is the base. It has a neutral and a somewhat shimmery aspect to it. The middle tone and dark tone blend well with this. These can look good by themselves (as anything does on this palette), or together to create depth and/or structure.BRUSHES:The “Wonder Brush” (larger one) is perfect for blending the blush. It was easier for me to use my finger to apply the blush first and then blend it with the brush. It’s hard to see how much makeup is on the brush if you use it to pull blush directly from the palette. It feels soft, it’s lightweight, and the length and shape are great. There’s a plastic sleeve that you can use to keep the brush from getting damaged or dirty.The “Dual-Ended Retractable Lip + Eyeshadow” brush is great. It’s about 5.75” long with the caps on. When you pull off the caps, there are gold columns that extend, surrounding the brush heads (individually). Sometimes it doesn’t work, but if you squees the caps a bit, they can come out with the cap. You can also pull them out by hand, which makes it easy to replace the cap without ruining the brush. I’m not exactly sure if these columns are supposed to extend when taking off cap or not, but they are very convenient to have. The brushes themselves work well at distributing the makeup and feel soft on my skin.I had no reactions with this makeup on my sensitive skin. The makeup comes off easily with makeup remover. As for the cost, the brushes and makeup are high quality, but I think the cost is a little excessive where it’s at currently. If you can afford it, this is a really good set. I’m happy with it and I like it a lot.
