    Fantastic Debut, Breathtaking

    I’ve always been slightly cynical of some of the X Factor endeavors…that was until hearing Is This Love a few months ago. On instantly listening to the song and seeing the Video you could tell that Aiden was an ex Contestant that had something different.From the sublime Misty Eye to his beautiful rendition of Sias Breathe me this thoughtful, heartfelt album is a gem that in all accounts should be a frontrunner for accolades such as Brits and deserves (and will rightly so receive) recognition from an Industry which is these days all too easily littered with throwaway pop.The Album takes many sounds and merges it into one refreshing audible journey that leaves you feeling that you’ve got your moneys worth and also knowing that Grimshaw has a great career ahead of him.Stand out tracks are Is this Love, title track Misty Eye, Poachers Timing and Curtain Call but this for a debut is amazing and well worth the money. Well done Aiden!!!

    Such an amazing purchase, I don’t regret it one bit. The shipping doesn’t even matter once you get it because it’s my new favorite cd. In love with it, Aiden is an A+ person and his music is incredible.

    Liked it, but a bit uneven

    I’ve enjoyed Aiden since he was on the UK X Factor.With this effort, I think he is trying to distance himself from his start, as well as trying to find a place for himself.tt I think there are moments that are great, but also moments that seem like he is trying a little too hard. Hopefully, there will be a sophmore effort.

    Better than I expected!

    I chose this rating because the CD is simply fantastic! The songs have a very special sound, combines different styles perfectly. Plus, Aiden sings like an angel!I would recommend this CD to anyone who’s looking for something new/different!

    5 Sterne sind eigendlich nicht genug!

    Aiden Grimshaw ist mir schon sehr positiv in der britischen X-Factor Staffel aufgefallen, die dann Matt Cardle gewann. Obwohl noch relativ jung, ist er schon ein richtiger “Typ”, mit einer vielseitigen Stimme. Aber er war bei X-Factor nicht gut beraten: schon an sich etwas exzentrisch, wurde das mit seinen Outfits und den Songs die er interpretierte am Ende nahezu gruselig übertrieben und zu polarisierend. Aber sein Album “Misty Eye” ist für mich einfach nur großartig! Ich weiß nicht, wann ich mir das letzte Mal eine CD gekauft habe, die ich wirklich immer wieder rauf und runter hören kann, weil: jedes Stück gut ist, es abwechslungsreich ist und ich die Stimme nicht leid werde. Hier ist das auf jeden Fall so. Das Album fängt mit einigen flotteren Stücken an, geht dann in einen langsameren Teil über, um dann zum Ende nochmal aufzuleben. Sehr gut gemacht. Künstlerisch läßt sich das Album in keine Schublade stecken; über Pop/Rock (Hold on), RAP (What we gonna be), TripHop(Misty Eye), Break Beats im Hintergrund (Poachers Timing), Baladen (Be myself), bis hin zu einem Touch Blues (Curtain Call).Mal Songs mit Synthesisern, mal mehr Gitarren, oder auch mit Klavier oder Streichern. Dabei schafft es Aiden Grimshaw in allem glaubwürdig zu bleiben; das Album wirkt in keinster Weise zusammengewürfelt sondern ist eine absolut runde Sache. Die Texte sind richtig gut; nicht der übliche platte Kitsch, sondern eher metaphorisch. Seine Stimme ist mal kräftig, mal etwas “klagend”, fast sexy, bis hin zu unglaublich sanft (Be myself) und immer überzeugend. Man merkt, dass er nicht nur so “vor sich hin singt”, sondern hinter jedem seiner Songs steht. Besonders die Ballade “Breathe me” ist sehr sanft und auch etwas verzweifelt gesungen, dass man Gänsehaut bekommt. Als wäre es ein sehr persönlicher Song. Ein wunderschönes, überraschendes Album, dass hoffentlich viele begeistern wird!

    It was great to be able to get this CD on amazon because you can’t get it off I tunes in America. I have been looking for this CD for a long time and being able to find it somewhere that was actually accessible to me was great!
