Absolute Miracle Product
I’m a 30 y/o male with oily skin, and my dermatologist told me I should get some kind of mattifying primer or cream to put over my skincare routine in order to get the best-looking skin possible. I was a little skeptical, but decided to give a couple of products a try. I just didn’t want to look like I had makeup on or something. I use all Paula’s Choice products (Oil Reducing Cleanser, Pore Reducing Toner, and Oil Free Moisturizer) so this seemed like it might work best with my current products.This product is absolutely incredible. I normally have a shiny t-zone after a few hours, regardless of what I do or how gentle my products are. Using this cream instantly mattified my skin, and it stays that way the entire day. It’s really natural-looking, and as soon as it soaks into your skin, it leaves your skin feeling insanely soft and smooth.I’ve found that a disposable wedge sponge works well to apply this cream, but but you can easily use your fingers to apply it in a thin layer if you don’t have a sponge. The cream itself looks like a thicker semi-opaque moisturizer, and it’s not tinted or powdery. Its kind of like eye cream in consistency.The best part about this cream is that it’s feather-light. I was worried my face would feel chalky or heavy, or that it would clog my pores. As long as you don’t slather it on your face like a moisturizer, you won’t even feel that it’s there. The sponge comes in handy there, because you can lightly dab it all over to get good coverage without slathering it on.I got instant compliments on my skin, and people even ask me now what skin products I use, and it’s all because of the Shine Stopper. Mentally, this product saved me. I no longer check my face during the day to see if I’m getting shiny or feeling like crap about it.The people who have negative reviews of this product probably just weren’t using it right, unfortunately.

Close to perfect for very oily skin
I have been using this product for 2 years. I have very oily skin and had to blot several times a day. The situation was even worse in high humidity (regardless of whether it was warm or cold). I have been looking for a product to reduce shine and the amount of oil exacerbating my acne. Previously I tried the Becca Ever Matte primer, which worked for only a couple of hours (excessively drying out my skin) before the oil and shine came back in an extreme way.With Shine Stopper, I found that it doesn’t excessively dry my skin and it lasts for many hours. It doesn’t prevent all shine from returning, but in low humidity I find that I can typically blot just once in the middle of the day – with much more effectiveness – and that’s enough to be shine-free for the rest of the day. In higher humidity maybe I have to blot twice. Remember that this is for someone with extremely oily skin, so if you’re not as oily I assume you’d blot less or not at all.It is important to dab this product on the skin rather than rubbing it in. Just keep dabbing all over and be sure to dab more in the oiliest areas. You can apply it under or on top of makeup, moisturizers, etc. Reapplication with the Becca primer typically ruined my makeup, so this is a real plus with the Paula’s Choice product. I also experience no irritation around the eyes with this product. I often wear it with no makeup at all and I highly recommend it to others with oily skin. Two thumbs up!

Did not like at first but love it now
I did not like this product at first when I tried using it as directed. Now I apply it after moisturizer and before my sunscreen (which tends to be a bit too glowy for me). It has worked great to take down the glow of the sunscreen and keep my skin more matte all day under my foundation. I don’t use it to touch up over my foundation as that did not work at all for me. I have pressed powder I use as needed and my oil is under much better control now.

Has an issue
This cream is preventing shining on skin but there is some issues with it. The first it makes feel the skin very dry and not very comfortable. The second after a month of using the cream inside of package turn into 2 substances: something like water and the cream one. So, when I push the tube only water comes out first. For better use I need shake it and squeeze it before opening for few minutes. But yes, it doesn’t let my face to be shining for 6 or more hours and helps to hide the pores

don’t waste your time with this if you’re very oily. won’t make any miracles happen. save urself some bucks and get the hard candy matte on lock primer instead- now that is a miracle.

So my favorite mattifier was discontinued, and I’ve been having a hard time finding a replacement for it. And in all honesty, it didn’t even work as well as Paula’s Choice.I am extremely happy with this purchase, not only because it works well, but because the price is very reasonable.This Shine Stopper is reducing my shine, and my T-Zone does not feel greasy. This product is lasting the majority of my workday, if not all of it. I am very happy!

I wish I discovered this years ago
So my skin is OILY, by 2pm my skin is covered in oil. I’ve tried so many different face washes, primers, powders, setting sprays and nothing helps. I use Paula’s choice toner and cleanser and love their products so I decided to look up and see it they had anything for oil control and I saw this and decided to give it a try and OMGGGAbsolutely amazing!!!!! The first time I used it, I had a delivery at work that involved me being outside in the humid August Florida weather for 6 hours, and I was blown away by the results! My skin has NEVER went through a day without having an insecure amount of oil on my face ESPECIALLY if I’m outside, till that day. My skin was the best I’ve ever seen it, no oil, AT ALLMy makeup didn’t crease up anywhere like it usually would from the oil, my makeup looked better, my pores looked smaller and my skin was also SUPER soft. You really don’t need a lot of this product either, a little goes a long way. The price might be intimidating but I promise it’s definitely worth it, my bottle has lasted me about a month now (I use it every single day too) and I still have some left.One tip if you do get this product, blot and tap it into your skin, don’t rub! If you’re putting on makeup on top, make sure not to rub anything, tap and blotting gives the best results I’ve come to find.I don’t think I’ll need to try anything else for oil control, if you have any problems with oil I would definitely give this product a try
