Excellent value for the price
I wanted to get my first henna tattoo, but a design on the back of my hand cost $50—that’s way too expensive. Then I came across this henna tattoo kit, which lets me create countless designs myself for the same price. As a beginner, it was a breeze—I had it done on my arm in less than ten minutes. All I had to do was trace along the stencils, so I didn’t have to worry about making mistakes while drawing freehand.

Perfect for Clumsy People
I’ve used henna tattoos with stencils before, but the ink tends to bleed. I’ve also tried drawing them by hand, but I always end up ruining the whole design because of mistakes. This henna tattoo kit that comes with a tattoo printer is perfect for me. The printed stencils transfer to the skin very clearly—all I have to do is apply the henna paste along the lines of the stencil.

Whether it’s Halloween, Christmas, music festival, or birthday party, you can design and apply your own henna tattoos right at home. It’s so convenient!

The color rendering is good, also waterproof
It comes with two colors of henna cones (brown and rose red), rose red is more eye-catching. After hand-drawing, wait one hour for the color to fully develop. It won’t fade when rinsed with water, but frequent washing is not recommended.

Get fancy and transfer exactly what you want!
Henna tattoo kit! The application of henna is an intuitive drawing art form. It takes practice to get really good at making intricate patterns. If you feel like you freeze up or draw a blank when you’re about to draw this would be a great option. It’s also helpful if you want to transfer a specific design or maybe a name onto someone.Getting set up is easy. I downloaded the app, and connected the machine no problem. You do not need to subscribe to anything to use the app or machine. There is a whole section of free fonts. There are many free designs as well that you can use too. You can import your own line art as well. I do wish that they had the stencil features for free to enhance your own artwork, but it’s fine I use a separate app to clean up my artwork.Drawbacks with this kit would be if your stencil has thick lines or if you go outside the line a bit it will show. I’d like to see options offered to make the lines thinner for tracing. I was a bit bummed to see it can’t use paper longer in the machine. It can only print on 80mm x 133mm or 3” x 5.25”Overall would be fun for a henna party. I suggest setting up the app and practice printing a few designs and transferring the stencils onto skin first. Which btw is also quite fun. If they made different colored stencil paper you could have a blast with just that part!

You have to give China access to your phone, and pay for most features in the App
I thought this would be fun to try, but turns out there are a couple of huge issues that are not addressed in the listing that people should know. This looks like a nice little printer set and durable enough that it will hold up with normal use. While I would not say this is difficult to use, it is also not for someone who does not want to put random Chinese developed apps on their phone that then require odd permissions (why do you need tracking info to print things). To my dismay the app is also fully required to use this printer. Now, if once you loaded it you could print anything you wanted it would be a decent value for the money, but you can not. To enable most of the printing features you need to pay for a subscription service. So after the 4th thing I tried to pull up to print told me I needed to pay or start a 7 day trial and give them my billing info, I tossed it back in the box and am done with this. Sad as I really wanted to play with this a bit more. If you are ok with these things it is probably great, but be forewarned for those who are not.

Fun concept
I was really excited to try this because a couple of months ago my daughter had some henna done at a festival and she loved it. The idea of being able to make my own henna stencils and apply it at home sounded really fun.The actual printer is excellent. It was very easy to connect to my phone and print the designs, and the stencil came out nice and clear.I did run into some frustration with the app, though. I have used other Phomemo products and their app before, and I noticed a pretty significant difference this time. The app really seems to push you toward using AI features and paying for a subscription or credits. It is possible to use it for free, but sometimes it felt like I had to work really hard to figure out how to get to the free option when all I wanted to do was print an image of my choice. I eventually figured it out, but it was more frustrating than I expected. I really wish the basic functionality were easier to access without all the subscription prompts.Once I had my designs ready, though, the actual tattoo process was pretty straightforward. I wasn’t sure how the transfer solution or the stencil ink itself would affect the henna’s ability to actually stain the skin, so that was something I was particularly curious about. I did one on my daughter using some runes, and instead of using the transfer solution, I lightly moistened her skin and transferred the stencil. It transferred well enough that I could clearly see what I needed to fill in with the henna. For my own tattoo, I used the included transfer solution and let it sit for about 5–10 minutes as recommended on the bottle. My skin still felt quite oily afterward, so I gently dabbed it with a tissue to remove some of the residue before applying the henna.I also really like that the kit comes with two colours of henna. We tried the more traditional brown first, but having the rose red as an option gives you some variety. I especially appreciate that the henna cone comes with a cap, because that way we can use it more than once. The biggest advantage of this kit is definitely the ability to make your own designs. If you’re not confident enough to freehand henna (which I’m not), having a stencil to trace makes complicated designs much more possible. And being able to print your own designs means you’re not limited to whatever stencils happen to come in the package.Unfortunately, the henna didn’t really turn out. I’m not sure if it was my skill or an issue with the henna. For starters, you could still really see the indigo of the stencil on our skin – and you can’t really scrub it off because that will fade the henna too. Secondly, the henna bled into our skin significantly around the design. This happened on both of ours, whether we used water or the transfer solution. I did some reading and it sounds like this can happen if the henna is too moist. This might not be the best quality henna. We left it on overnight and it was dark, but as you can see from the photos it wasn’t what you’d hope for. Maybe it will look better in a couple of days. I might buy another brand of henna and see how that goes too.Overall, I think this is a really fun kit for beginners. The printer itself is easy to use and works really well. My biggest complaint is the app experience and how heavily it pushes the paid features.

An Outstanding Henna Kit Once You Watch The Tutorial
Outstanding. This is a really fun kit that delivers proper henna tattoo results at home, without needing to book a session or track down a professional artist for a special occasion.I do recommend watching the tutorial video by the company before you start. It took me a couple of attempts to get the technique right, and having the visual walkthrough would have saved me those first few learning-curve tries. Once you have the process down, it becomes quick and intuitive. The design flexibility is where this really shines. You can create your own custom designs directly through the app, which opens up so many creative possibilities beyond just picking from pre-made options. And the default app itself comes with a huge library of design choices, so even if you do not want to design from scratch, you have plenty of ready-to-use options right at your fingertips. The two henna cones in brown and rose red give you colour flexibility for different looks. Classic brown for a more traditional henna finish, or rose red for something more playful and modern. This would be a really fun activity for parties, weddings, cultural celebrations, or just a creative afternoon at home. It is also a nice option for teens who want to experiment with body art without committing to anything permanent. The whole setup is well thought out and beginner-friendly, with the small caveat that you should absolutely watch the tutorial first. Do not be like me and skip straight to freestyling. Learn from my henna smudges.Fantastic for anyone interested in temporary body art, custom design work, or just a fun new creative hobby.
