High-End Feel Without the Price Tag!
I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect to love this primer as much as I do, but it completely surprised me. The SHEGLAM Birthday Skin Primer exceeded my expectations in the best way.First off, I LOVE that it’s cruelty-free and doesn’t contain Red 40, which is a big deal for me. The packaging feels far more high-end than the price suggests, as the jar has that luxe look, and it even comes with a little spatula so you don’t have to dip your fingers in (which feels both fancy and hygienic).The texture is smooth and easy to apply, gliding onto the skin without feeling heavy or greasy. It preps my skin beautifully for makeup. When I use this, my foundation goes on more evenly and looks noticeably better throughout the day. I also love that it helps tone down redness, giving my complexion a more balanced, even look before I even apply coverage.Finally, I have dry, sensitive skin, and this did not irritate my skin in the least.Overall, this is one of those hidden gems that quietly earns a permanent spot in your routine. Definitely worth trying if you want a hydrating primer that actually makes a difference.

Questionable ingredients – including several the listing says are not included.
This seems to be a re-release/re-brand of an existing Sheglam product – the ingredient list and UPC codes being the same.The listing claims amongst other things: “no hormone disruptors, no fragrance, no mineral oil.” For starters as soon as you open the product you can smell the rose fragrance, so obviously that’s not true. I checked the primer in an app which tests products for the safety of their ingredients and found the other two to be false as well.The app rated this product ‘poor’ at 30/100. It has two ingredients of moderate risk, six ingredients of low risk, and the remaining 21 ingredients were deemed risk-free.The moderate risk ingredients are: Cyclopentasiloane (silicone to give a silky feeling to creams, can have neurotoxic effects, ie can disrupt the proper functioning of the nervous system) and Ozokerite (a petroleum derivative that belongs to the **mineral oil** family used as a softener and moisturizer, toxic impurities can be carcinogenic and genotoxic, additionally extraction of the materials for production of this ingredient from underground and the high energy consumption for production have a significant environmental impact).The low risk ingredients are: Dimethicone (synthetic polymer – microplastic – texturising and emulsifying agent used to create a thin film on the skin to create an artificial feeling of protection and softness. can add a potential of toxic impurities the can **disrupt the endocrine system**, be neurotoxic, or cause irritation), Dimethicone crosspolymer (a synthetic polymre – microplastic – used for texturising and emulsifying to form a thin film on the skin, hair, or nail surface to create an artificial feeling of protection and softness. My new favorite primer
I will concede, I was a little concerned seeing the primer was tinted. While I do have a neutral undertone, I do deal with some occasional redness around my cheeks and nose – I was worried the redness would be emphasized after putting on my usual makeup.Thankfully my worries were unfounded – and that was only one way this primer surprised me. It’s silicone based, so of course any liquids you add on your face should be silicone-based as well, but it worked well with the foundations I already had. And boy does the ‘invisible pore’ tag keep true to its word: it didn’t get rid of my more egregious pores (which is an EXTREMELY tall ask considering I have some a couple millimeters wide), but all the smaller ones were noticeably less visible after I put my face together.I’m not one to wear makeup for more than a few hours a day (5 at most) but for the scant number of hours they were on? Especially in southern, humid weather? I am VERY impressed with how well the primer held my face together.And for just under 7 dollars? You can’t be beat with at least giving the primer a try.

Ok I usually live sheglam primers but wasn’t as impressed with this one. It was more like a moisturizer. Did nothing to smooth pores or prep face for make up

Primero que nada, no saben lo mucho que me gusta este producto, tengo los poros abierto y eso me causa conflicto porque yo lo noto.Si al igual que yo, tienes los poros abierto te recomiendo este producto. Huele muy bien, es muy suave y te ayuda a tapar imperfecciones!

Excellent Pore Blurring and Smooth Finish for Mature Skin
This is a silicone based primer by SHEGLAM and it works very well to smooth texture on my aged-combination skin. Check out my close-up before and after photos. I’ve found that I really only need a tiny pea amount to blur the skin on my face effectively, especially around my T-zone and cheeks where I have a lot of texture.The primer comes in a clear pot with a small spatula for dispensing, perfect for hygiene and helpful if you have long nails. I pat the primer into my textured areas and let it set for about a minute before putting on my foundation. Since the primer is silicone it works best with silicone foundations.The primer does a great job extending the wear of my makeup, even when I sweat. It’s not covering fine lines and wrinkles or hiding big imperfections, but I do think it makes my skin look more youthful and less damaged, which I appreciate.It’s worth noting there is rose flower oil in this, which has a light fragrance. The scent faded quickly and it did not irritate my skin, but I wanted to mention it.Overall, this is an effective primer that works well to blur pores and keep your makeup looking fresh!
