I knew better going in…but, thought “What the heck?”…even a little bit of plumping would be worth it. Alas, no…this stuff did nothing to improve the look of my lips, just called attention to them because it is extremely high gloss (kind of like training a spotlight on your lease attractive feature). Might work for younger folks, but not me. Not worth the money or the effort. Sadly…

Not terribly effective, but also quite pleasant
This is a very interesting product. It has a vague flavor, but nothing I can really pinpoint and nothing overwhelming–unlike a LOT of lip plumpers I’ve tried (and I’ve tried a TON). My only major complaint is that it does leave a somewhat unpleasant aftertaste in my mouth after (during?) use.The container is interesting and easy to use, although I did have to press the button quite a few times to dispense any product for the first time. The gel is clear and looks very beautiful on the lips.However.I didn’t find that it did much. It tingled a *little* bit, but I got the feeling that was all it did. I know irritation = plumpness, so if it isn’t uncomfortable, I get the feeling it isn’t working.This would definitely make a great lip gloss for someone who doesn’t like an overly powerful lip plumper.

I had to change my review from 4 to 5! This is so hydrating for my lips. First I felt my lips were soft. Now I have no chapped lips, no little layers to peel off, no need for a sugar scrub. I apply it over my lipstick, it looks great & feels great.Because there were no instructions included, it took some trial and error to figure out. If you want a intense, standalone lip plumper, this version might be too weak. However, if you are looking for a beautiful, high-shine gloss that leaves your lips incredibly soft and hydrated, also, gives a nice volume boost over lipstick, it is a great addition to your makeup routine.The Good:Great as a top coat: I noticed a distinct volumizing and plumping effect when I layered this product over my regular lipstick.Beautiful gloss & shine: The high-shine finish is gorgeous and works perfectly as a daily lip gloss.Super softening: It left my lips feeling incredibly soft and hydrated after wearing it.Super hydrating: You can feel that is hydrating your lips after a little use.The Bad:Ineffective on bare lips: When applied completely on its own, it did not plump or change the appearance of my lips at all. Rubbing didn’t help: Even after multiple attempts and rubbing my lips together for several minutes, nothing happened on bare skin.No instructions: The box did not include any instructions or tips on the best way to apply it or what to expect.

much less spicy than the “extreme” version, but still spicy and plumping
I have both this “normal” version of the Smooche lip plumper and the “extreme” version, and both have their place. I will say that this is still very spicy, but it lacks the overwhelming spiciness of the extreme.This is a medium-thickness gloss that goes on clear and has a typical gloss texture without feeling too sticky. It doesn’t take a lot for good coverage. The spiciness/plumping action lasts even after the glossiness fades. I find that this plumper doesn’t make my lips turn an irritated-looking pink, which I appreciate (pinks are not flattering on me at all).I do like the extreme plumper sometimes, but this works at a much more “everyday” level for me. The plumping, like the spiciness, is more subtle, more of a filling out of vertical lines rather than a size increase. If you’re looking for gloss and subtle filling out, this may be your match, but if you want a visible bee-stung pout, save your money for the extreme version.

I picked up this Lip Plumper because as I’ve gotten older, my lips felt like they were getting much thinner than they used to be. The applicator tube is true to size and a perfect fit to throw in a purse or pocket for quick touch-ups. It has a pleasant scent and a nice tingly feel upon application, offering just enough plumping action for a much-needed boost of confidence when heading out. Because the formula is clear, it looks great on its own or layered smoothly over any favorite lip color and has good coverage. It’s actually pretty moisturizing compared to others I’ve used. The sturdy packaging provides good durability, and the smooth tip wipes clean effortlessly for quick washability after applying over lipstick. Overall, this lip plumper is good quality and a decent value for the money.

Nice plumping and no stickiness
This is a very hydrating lip plumper. Sometimes lip plumper can dry your lips out, but these make your lips softer and more supple. It’s relatively lightweight and color matches with your favorite lipstick because it’s clear. I thought the coverage was pretty good. It lasted for a couple of hours when drinking coffee and longer when I wasn’t drinking at all. I’m hit or miss on the value because it’s a great product, but it’s $39. It’s hard to justify.

There are a lot of products that have the overly exaggerated photos of their products effects. As far as this product claiming it’s glossy… yeah, that’s legit. Maybe even glossier than the photos.This is a tingling lip product, I’m responsive to some tingling products, but this one seems to be a little too light. I did find that while I could barely feel it on my lips, when not thinking, I licked my lips and I could feel it instantly on my tongue. I found this a bit interesting because it normally works the other way around for me.If the Smooche products lead in something, I would guess it’s the effect of high gloss. Unfortunately for me, the gloss is over the top and not flattering. I just see a face that needs a bib or napkin. That’s just on my lips though, I don’t think it the photos make anyone look they’re dribbling.The gloss is thick enough that it took me quite a few clicks./pumps on the applicator to get it to start flowing. I expected it to be a slick gloss, but it’s very thick and tacky. When I initially loaded it up , it took a little effort to spread out it out by just rubbing my lips together.As for value, with my poor results, the current regular price of $39.00 is steep, and not something I’d consider a good value. If someone is desperate for high gloss more than plumping, perhaps that would be different for them. I could feel some tingle so I don’t think that it’s just the illusion from the gloss for everyone, but I don’t believe it’s very strong.

Nice gloss
This lip plumper is a good size to keep in your purse. It is very glossy and smells nice and not chemically. It feels kind of like a tingly numbing gloss. It kind of plumps my lips up but it mostly is just a super gloss. It is very highdrating and has good ingredients for my lips. The price is a bit steep for what you get. Still a quality gloss.the color contrast on the little box it comes in is horrible and I cannot read it at all. I think they should go for a bolder design.
