HYDRATION ON STEROIDS – I’VE FOUND MY NEW LIP BALM
Even during the summer, my lips are often dry and uncomfortable. I’ve tried balms, petroleum jelly, and glosses. While most of these products were effective, they only lasted a few hours; nothing kept my lips comfortable for long. Now I’ve found the perfect product for my dry lips. It’s described as gel gloss, but it is closer to a highly hydrating balm. It initially applies with a glossy, slightly sticky oil texture that disappears, leaving your lips feeling very moisturized. The ingredients I appreciate include Shea Butter, Hyaluronic Acid, Jojoba oil, and petrolatum. I first used this before bed, and when I woke up, my lips had never felt so hydrated. It’s packaged with a doe-foot applicator and is colorless, tasteless, and odorless. I gladly give this lip product five stars.

Decent moisturizing gloss but the value isn’t there
I have tried many lip plumping products before and I am not convinced there is anything in this lip gloss that is supposed to increase the volume of your lips. There was no real sign in the way it felt on my lips or the way my lips looked after applying. It is a nice gloss. It’s not thick like the misleading photos show. It is more of a sheer light weight gloss that will keep your lips moisturized and isn’t sticky. I really don’t understand how they decided on the price. Nothing about this product suggests its value is anywhere near what it is being sold for. I would absolutely take it back to the store if I had paid for it.

Overpriced
I liked this gloss, but I believe it’s rather pricey for what you get. I have $5 glosses that last longer on my lips than this one does. It has a doe-foot applicator, and the packaging does feel luxe. However, the gloss is lightweight and sheer and doesn’t stay on the lips for a long time. It is also supposed to be “volumizing,” and I did not get that effect at all from this gloss. It has a very subtle scent and doesn’t burn like you’d expect a volumizing gloss to.

Clear lip gloss that keeps you hydrated
This lipgloss is great. It’s clear and when you put it on your lips stay hydrated for much longer than I thought it would. Normally I reapply gloss every hour but this I felt that I didn’t have to for over two hours which is a long time. It goes on and it lightweight and doesn’t feel greasy. It also has a tingle feeling when you put it on so you know the lip plumping is happening as well. This bottle has lasted me a long time and I think it’s a great buy for the cost. Smooche has excellent products and this one fits in that line as well. Total keeper!

Zero Stinging and Zero Staying Power
I must be honest: at first, I was completely terrified of trying this plumping gloss. Because I am hypersensitive to taste and smell, I anticipated an intense, uncomfortable “spicy” stinging sensation based on the plumping ingredients. However, I was incredibly relieved to find that this formula does not burn, sting, or irritate the lips or the inner mouth at all. Due to past structural surgeries, my lip shape is not typical, so I couldn’t visually measure a dramatic difference in volume; that being said, my lips definitely feel a bit fuller and softer when I press them together. While the texture feels comfortable, the longevity and stability of this formula are where it completely fails—which is a massive issue considering this is a $39 luxury product. I first tested it over a standard matte liquid lipstick, and while it initially looked beautiful and high-shine, the gloss completely vanished in less than an hour, seemingly “eaten” and dissolved the liquid lip color underneath. To investigate whether this was caused by natural human lip movement and moisture, I conducted a controlled test using a set of silicone practice lips. Even on the stationary silicone surface with zero human mouth moisture, the gloss completely disappeared and sank away within the hour. For a premium price point of nearly forty dollars, a gloss needs to deliver flawless stability, but this formula simply cannot handle layering over other cosmetics or natural lips. If you do decide to purchase it, you have to be very strategic with how you style it to get your money’s worth. I highly recommend wearing this gloss entirely alone for a casual, low-key look, or pairing it strictly with a more tinted gloss that shares a similar base ingredient structure. A moisturizing lipstick or a basic lip liner trend would also likely hold up much better against this formula than a matte fluid base. It is a fantastic option if you want a pain-free, comfortable plump, but because it fails the performance and longevity test so terribly, it is absolutely not worth the luxury price tag.
Customer Review of Product –
Nice lip gloss but a little pricey
I love Smooche products, and this is no exception. I feel like this worked well on my lips and lasted longer than most. I only use on bare lips and not over lipstick, so I can’t attest to that usage. I didn’t feel the volumizing effect much. I’ve actually had better luck with other Smooche products in that area. The texture is not too sticky, but it does adhere. It’s not very lightweight, but that’s okay, as the heavier formulation makes it easy to have full coverage. It is clear, so it will look good alone or over lipstick. The only issue I have is that it just isn’t a good value for the money. You can get high-quality lip glosses that volumize for much cheaper.

Overpriced
This lip gloss glides on easily and doesn’t leave you with sticky lips. Feels like it moisturizes as any lip gloss does when applied to the lips. Coverage will depend on your application coverage. This is just like normal lip gloss though. Nothing special about it that I can tell. It doesn’t add volume or plump based on my usage. Smells like sugar but tastes like nothing. Clear color keeps it neutral and can be worn daily with any outfit. I don’t understand why it costs so much though. I would not buy this at what is currently price at. It is not worth that price. I have many other lip glosses that provides the same glossy, non sticky feel that cost a lot less. The quality of this lip gloss is nothing extravagant to warrant the $39.99 price tag.

Hydrating lip gloss like but don’t love
I love lippie products and was excited about this. The packaging is very sleek and simple. Coverage wise I put on one layer and it lasts about an hour without reapplying. Very shiny. There’s no glitter in this. My lips felt extremely hydrated while wearing I didn’t notice them any softer once it wore off. There’s a scent but it’s very subtle and smells like a light vanilla. The texture is smooth and it has quality ingredients but I feel like I’ve tried similar products for half the price and product that last longer.
