So messy
I really wanted to like this mascara because I have super thin and short lashes, but the brush design makes it almost impossible to use cleanly. Every time I try to apply it, I end up getting mascara all over my eyelids and under my eyes. I’ve used others with a similar wand and haven’t struggled like I do with this one, I think its because of how runny and wet it is. It gives that spider-leg look instead of smooth, separated lashes because I can’t seem to get it evenly applied. I’ve used other mascaras with similar styles that worked much better, but this one just isn’t worth the hassle.

I had high hopes for this Steel Tube Mascara, Waterproof Iron Wand Mascara for Sparse/Fine Lashes, Long Lasting, Smudge-Proof, No Flaking and No Clumping, Black. Alas, my hopes were dashed once I tried this mascara on my lashes and tried it out for more than five minutes.I like this kind of wand. I’ve used similar ones before, even metal wands. They work well with long, straight, fine lashes like mine, and they tend to grab every lash and drench each one in a uniform coat of mascara. So I had no misgivings with the wand (I still don’t. It is an excellent wand).However, the actual mascara is problematic. It has a thin formula (good), and it was a breeze to run the wand through my lashes and be able to see the tips of my baby-fine lashes. My lashes were separated and looked long and doll-like.Great! That lasted a VERY short time. Within the hour, the mascara started to feel gritty, and end up in my eye. It repeatedly sloughed off tiny dry bits. I mean VERY tiny; my under eyes appeared to have had the grave misfortune of being attacked by two miniature flower pots that flung their dirt directly under my lash lines. Since I have dry eyes and it is also allergy season, this kept my eyes pretty miserable.I can’t recommend this mascara. It is possible I received a batch that was older than it should have been. It crumbled instead of staying firmly on my lashes. It’s a shame, too, because for the first few minutes, my lashes looked quite good. Oh, well.
