Not worth the hype
I don’t understand the applicator. It’s sharp and pointy and is weird to use on your lips. The product itself tingles a bit but doesn’t give the results as advertised – AT ALL. Some redness and tingling is all you get. I really hate it when influencers over exaggerate the efficacy of the product. I’ll use it, but won’t buy it again.

Didn’t last an hour
Doesn’t last an hour. I’ve been looking for a good long lasting lip plumper and this is just not it. Point applicator is stiff but honestly didn’t bother me. However, I put this on the first time and didn’t see much of a difference… so i tried it again and applied little extra, just in case it was user error, but nope! It doesn’t last even an hour. I put in on on my way to an appointment once i got to my car it was all but gone.Maybe I got a bad batch, but it’s not worth the price, i’ll be returning.

I was skeptical. Has someone who gets a lip flip whenever they have botox, i was wondering if this would work for the time between. It was spicy when you put it on but it went away quickly. You can see the blood flow as it almost looks like a lip liner.

Lip injections in a bottle!
Buxom has been my holy grail lip plumping brand for years. It’s one of those products I end up treating myself to every birthday or Christmas because I still haven’t found another plumper that works as well for me. Naturally, I was ridiculously excited when they came out with a lip liner version.This isn’t really a traditional lip liner. It’s a clear plumping treatment that you apply just around the edge of your lips before going in with whatever gloss or lipstick you want. I paired mine with one of my favorite Buxom glosses afterward, and the combination looked fantastic. Since the liner is clear, you’re not locked into any particular lip color.Now let’s talk about the tingling, because wow.This is easily the strongest lip plumper I’ve used. It took me right to my personal pain threshold without sending me over it. If it had tingled any more intensely, I probably would’ve wiped it off. The first five to ten minutes are definitely the most noticeable, but after that the sensation gradually fades while the plumping sticks around. My lips also became noticeably rosier, probably from the increased blood flow, and the before and after photos I included really show the difference. I’ve never had a plumper create results this dramatic without actually getting filler.One funny thing I learned almost immediately is that this transfers until it has a chance to settle. I originally planned to do only my top lip, accidentally pressed my lips together, and suddenly both lips were plumping. Consider yourself warned. If you apply this and immediately kiss someone, congratulations… you’re both getting the Buxom experience.At $28, it’s right in line with the rest of Buxom’s lineup, and I genuinely think it’s worth every penny. You only need a thin line around the perimeter of your lips, so a tube should last quite a while. If you’ve ever wondered what you’d look like with lip filler before committing to the real thing, this is probably the closest cosmetic product I’ve tried. Just be ready for a few minutes of serious tingling, because this little tube absolutely came to work!

Meh, does what it says but not huge effect
I have been using Buxom products for years, and was excited to see this plumping lip liner. It comes in a very small narrow tube, with a white applicator; the tube is much smaller (maybe 1/2 as thin?) as Buxom brand lip gloss. I’m only giving 3 stars because for what you pay, you don’t get a lot of product. Further, the applicator is very pointy and sharper than I expected. This might be useful for creating a really precise line around the lips, but it doesn’t apply that much product. There is a tingling sensation when applied, much like their other lip plumping gloss, so you know it’s working. In fact, I think they are probably the same exact product, but just packaged differently. There was a slight difference in my upper lip size, but not much (see upper to lower pictures without makeup only the lip plumping gloss and chapstick). Ignore my lack of foundation as it’s been a long day. I’m also over 40 so there are some lip wrinkles. Ugh.The top of the picture is no product. The middle is the lip liner and chapstick 3 min later. The bottom pic is more lip liner applied to top and bottom lips 2 min later.Overall, it does what it says, but because you don’t put much product on, the effect is modest. Might be good for ladies who just want a little extra. For me, I’m going to stick with my regular buxom lip gloss.

Best filler for dry lips
I’ve been using this lip liner a few times a week for about a month now, and it’s made its way into my regular routine.I’m always a little wary of the tingle these products tend to have, but this one skips that in favor of feeling hydrating and glossy instead.The applicator has a nice shape and is easy to apply. It’s not sticky at all, and it leaves a clear shine behind.I’ve also used it as a base under lipstick, and it works well for preventing cracking lines throughout the day. The hydration holds up too, I’ve noticed it lasting for hours after application.If you want a lip liner that skips the typical tingle and doubles as a hydrating base for lipstick, this has worked really well for that. This is a great value for what it does and it has become a solid part of my daily routine.
