I usually I only bother with lipstick and I’ve been use Revlon ColorStay Overtime, which is also a lip stain, for several years. That lasts all day (through meals and several coffees). It goes on one color and it stay that color all day. This product however, is a totally different experience.First, I don’t think it’s intended for lips like mine (photo A). I’m guessing I would need to exfoliate and condition my lips then apply a plumping agent. I’d also have to use a different applicator as the one they include is not great unless you stretch your lips, which then overloads any creases, which I have plenty of. Maybe on lips that are smoother it would be easier to apply.Second, the colors is a bit too subtle for me, even right after applying (B), but especially after about 5-6 hours (C). The stain made a nice base for my other lipstick though. The tubes and boxes are all identical except for a single digit number. I went back to the Amazon listing to look at the images and decided to try #3 because it was the darkest one. Was hoping for something remotely Merlot, it ended up more like a Grenache Rose stain you’ve tried washing out a couple times.The next morning there was technically some color on my lips that was actually very similar to (C) left so that’s actually why the four stars. I means that’s a solid 24 hours of not-nothing. So if you just want a touch of color and you can get the hang of using it, it might be a good product. It’s just too much work for me.Oh that reminds me the instructions on the box are unreadable without a magnifying glass… with a magnifying glass they are pretty much useless. YouTube probably has a ton of tips on how to make the most of this stuff, but again, too much work for me.

I’m not a huge fan of these. First, because the packaging is exactly the same for each of the three colors, the only difference is the number stamped on the bottom. I tried to determine roughly which shade was which but blotting each on paper but they’re all extremely dark and look almost exactly the same.Application was messy, I couldn’t get an even coat, nor could I get crisp edges. Once I’d rolled this off after two minutes I could see the uneven edges. Also, my fingernails and fingers got stained. Micellar water didn’t budge the stains, nor did washing with soap and water three times, even with scrubbing with a washcloth.The color was as if I had added a small bit of water to cherry Koolaid and applied it to my lips and fingers. Several minutes after application, I had a mild burning sensation on my lips. I guess the upside is that my lips were very stained.Lastly, the smell of this is similar to that of a sharpie. These are now going straight into the trash. The two (generous) stars are for the indelible color.
