I approach all advertising claims with a healthy dose of skepticism, but I was especially intrigued by the promises of the Kurved Skin Aging Curve Mirror Glazed Peptide Lip Oil in Rose Melt shade. This lip oil claims not to be sticky and to plump lips (up to 32.81%), smooth fine lines, and provide 24-hour hydration.I tried the oil first by itself, which I applied it with the slanted metal applicator. As unusual as the metal applicator was, I found that it produced a very even coating that was fairly thick. I patted it down and let it sit for a while. It was a little tacky, but not sticky, and made my dry lips feel soft and hydrated. As far as plumping goes, I didn’t see any, but I usually don’t see any with the plumpers that sting either. The shade was subtle and very close to my own lip color. There was a little shine, but it was not overly glossy.The next time I used it, I laid the oil down first, swiped on a very dry, long-lasting lip tint, and topped it off with another coating of lip oil. This was an experiment I expected to fail, but I was wrong. The oil did not dissolve the lip tint. At first, there was a little transfer when I drank from a straw, but there was no feathering. The longer I wore this combo, the less transfer there was, and color lasted well and stayed pretty.This lip oil was not perfect, but it was very good. It was hydrating, long-lasting, and didn’t feather. It can be used as a primer, a topcoat, or all alone. It’s a little pricey, but I think it’s worth it.

I have tried a lot of lip oils, glosses, and tinted lip products over the years, and this one has genuinely impressed me.The shade Rose Melt ended up being absolutely perfect for me. I wasn’t expecting to love the color as much as I do, but it somehow enhances my natural lip color while still adding enough pigment to look polished and intentional. It falls into that ideal “your lips but better” category and has been incredibly flattering with my skin tone.The finish is gorgeous. It creates a true mirror-like shine without feeling sticky, heavy, or tacky. My hair doesn’t constantly get caught in it, and it remains comfortable for extended wear. I was also pleasantly surprised by how well it adheres to the lips. I wore it for over two hours and it barely budged. It even survived splashing water on my face without noticeably breaking down. I suspect oil-based foods, eating, and drinking will remove it more readily, but it fades very naturally and evenly rather than becoming patchy.I’ve included a photo immediately after applying and several minutes later, in different daylight.One of my favorite details is the curved metal applicator. I’m usually pretty basic when it comes to my lips….stick balm is usually what I use and on the rare occasion I want a little color I have a tube of lipstick for that. That being said when this peptide lip oil from KURVED popped up I figured…why not try it?I’ve always had well shaped and fairly plump lips. Even now at 59 I haven’t noticed a difference in the size or shape of my lips. So right out of the gate in trying this I have not noticed any type of plumping or wrinkle reduction but then again my lips are not wrinkly to begin with.The packaging/ tube is very lux looking and feeling.I was a little concerned about the color as I tend to lean more towards neutrals…light browns…than anything in the rose / red category. So I was happy to see that while this did offer some color when applied it is not overly dark and tends to look fairly natural. When it has absorbed/ worn off there is a slight stain of color to the lips. Nothing drastic but if I reapply right away it ups the rose color which I don’t care for so I wipe off that tint and start fresh.The applicator is interesting and like nothing I’ve ever seen or used before but I find I really like it. It holds enough product to coat my lips completely. I LOVE the aluminum tip and that it does not have that typical fuzzy end. It was very easy to apply and stay within the lip lines.I find this to feel quite thick once applied. To me it actually feels thicker than plain old lipstick. Not necessarily in a bad way but a heads up this is not a light feeling product. I found it to be the slightest bit tacky/ sticky which I am not a fan of although it was not horrible…just slightly there.It stays well on the lips and I didn’t find it to bleed out at all.It wears for me for about 1 1/2-2 hours and that is not eating anything and the occasional drink of water.It does not get gummy or anything as it wears away/ gets absorbed into the lips. It just slowly ceases to be apart from the above mentioned slight tint of color to the lips.I found this to be scent free. It also has no taste if your tongue accidentally touches it.All in all a pretty decent lip oil for a fairly reasonable price especially when you consider the ingredients. Right now looking at the available colors I would love to see something more in a lighter brown shade than their mocha. If/ when they offer other colors more in my preference I would definitely order it.
