Works really well as long as the surface is correctly prepped. We used this paint palette for latex performance masks and after 4 performances the paint began to crack on some, but remains in good shape on others. I can only assume user error.

If you are familiar with skin illustrator products, then this is just like all the others, really nice quality and perfect pigments. If you are new, then here’s some information. The colors are true to the colors in the pan but since they are alcohol based, the colors are build able medium light washes, and blend very nicely. Skin illustrator as a brand is for the more experienced artists. This palette if perfect for trying skin illustrator for the first time.

If you purchase this product and have complaints about its performance, the odds are it’s you and not the product that is the problem. PPI lines of makeup, palettes, gels, stains, sealers, removers…etc, are all of the highest quality and are widely used and endorsed by working professionals in makeup FX. If you’re a cosplay or recreational user I recommend you learn something about alcohol activated makeup and the layering of colors to produce a realistic effect before you purchase this or any of the other palettes. The Stan Winston School of Character Arts, is by far the best and most accessible set of resources for your money.

Best tattoo coverage for wedding with no transfer
***prefacing with I’m not a makeup expert or even intermediate artist***I got married last week and I have a spine tattoo that I desperately did not want visible in my photos (I had a strapless open back dress). After a few weeks of research and trial and error with regular concealer/color corrector combos, I knew I needed something different that wouldn’t transfer all over my husband’s suit jacket or on my family/guests who gave hugs. I stumbled across alcohol activated makeup products and after countless YouTube videos and online forums I chose this palette.With some help from my sister (I obviously can’t reach the part of my back where the tattoo is), I talked her through how to use the palette based on all the research I did and let me tell you….I couldn’t quite get an exacttttt color match, but that thing was HIDDEN. Can’t see it in any of my photos and after about 100 hugs, getting dipped on the dance floor multiple times by my new husband, and even a short soak in a hot tub at the end of the night this coverage was incredible with zero transfer.I’m not saying I’m an expert by ANY means, but this was the best I could have possibly asked for for tattoo coverage and I am beyond pleased!

Love it. Currently using not with the activator but with 91% alcohol (which is the lowest percentage you can use and still get acceptable pigment.) It is a small palette but if you’re using it casually it will still last you a LONG time. Don’t pay attention to whining reviews about only getting a few uses out of this, you only need the smallest amount to get a proper effect. Heck, even being used daily this will last you months. As for people complaining about the cakes being cracked, the cracks in the cakes have NO bearing on the quality of the product. I also notice people complaining that this palette is hard to use, to be blunt – DUH. The product even says it’s intended for professional use. This is not a beginner product. If you want easy and instant application get a cheap cream flash palette. This is an excellent product, meant to be used patiently and with an expert eye. I’m very happy with the results I’ve rendered from this and will certainly buy again.

Pans look pre-used when opened for application
Product looked like it has already been used after I opened it for the first time. The pictures capture what look like brush hair in certain pans and moisture spots in comparison to other reviews that looked spotless. I didn’t open until the day of a photoshoot and was highly disappointed that I paid nearly $80 for a product that looks like it’s been used. I was in a bind with little option to use it to cover several tattoos, applied fine and lasted all day otherwise.
